NDIS Strategic and Business Planning Infographic

You all know I LOVE an infographic or visual procedure, but there are of course many other documents that can be presented visually too, and I wanted to give you an example from the NDIS Practice Standards.

Many of the indicators within the Standards provide explicit direction for how providers can comply. Yet, as an NDIS auditor I still see many providers struggling to meet these requirements. So let’s break down one of these indicators from the Governance and Operational Management clause:

“The governing body ensures that strategic and business planning considers legislative requirements, organisational risks, other requirements related to operating under the NDIS (for example Agency requirements and guidance), participants’ and workers’ needs and the wider organisational environment.”

Note how this indicator doesn’t say HOW your strategic or business plan should look (it doesn’t need to be a huge document), it only describes WHAT should be in it. Many of the strategic and business plans I see actually don’t have all these elements in them. But it is exactly those elements that make developing a visual plan so easy, as you can see from the example below.

I usually use Canva to develop my infographics; the free version still has a lot of options and is the best free resource for infographics in my experience (based on me dabbling in many other online tools).

So, what do you think? Could you see yourself developing documents this way? Do you use another online tool to create your documents?

Of course, if you’re looking for someone to help you develop infographics or visual procedures, please reach out - I’d love to have a chat.

Thanks for reading,

Clarisa
